How to Write the Perfect E-Newsletter

by Josiesque @ JD Digital Marketing

One of the best ways to build brand loyalty with your consumers is with an effective e-newsletter. This is a great way to keep your base up-to-date on all the news, sales, and relevant information that your company has to offer. As with most things, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about executing this task. In order to keep subscribers interested and sharing your e-newsletter, make sure you’re following these guidelines: Rich Content Unlike blogs and articles posted on your webpage, e-newsletters arrive right in the subscriber’s inbox. This makes receiving it much more personal than content they just happened upon during browsing. If someone has subscribed to your newsletter, it’s because they have an on-going interest in what you have to say or offer. It’s important that you don’t misuse the trust users are giving you to inform them on relevant topics. E-newsletters that are brimming with spammy content and grossly obvious sales pitches will only serve to repel potential business. Rather, you want to publish valuable content that will educate or entertain your subscribers so they continue to return each time. Leave Them Wanting More On average, subscribers spend less than a minute on an e-newsletter. That means users are actually skimming the page rather than spending time reading lengthy text. You need to format your e-newsletter so that it’s easy to get the main points. Highlights, snapshots, and brief content blocks will give consumers just enough information to satisfy their needs without overwhelming them, while at the same time enticing them to learn more. The trick is to integrate obvious call-to action buttons so that users whose interests are piqued can find their way back to your site for more information. Consistency You want your subscribers to know that you’re a dependable...
